Vacancy - European Affairs Officer/Manager
/AEGIS Europe, a large cross-sectoral and formal alliance of manufacturing sectors advocating for fair and free international trade, is seeking to hire a European Affairs Officer/Manager (depending on experience), who will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of the Alliance’s activities.
The successful candidate will be hired on a one-year contract (renewable with long term perspective), to provide specific support for the Alliance’s advocacy on all the topics addressed by the Alliance through its working groups (Trade Defence Instruments, WTO reform, Trade Enforcement, Customs, Public Procurement, Carbon Border Adjustments and other trade related matters).
Drafting agendas, minutes and other AEGIS documents
Acting as Secretary for AEGIS meetings
Disseminating information to AEGIS membership
Organisation of travel, meetings and appointments
Operating AEGIS’s website and Twitter account
Media monitoring
Drafting position papers and analyzing documents
Job qualities
The successful candidate will:
Have an educational background in European studies, political science, economics, or law
Have a very good command of written and spoken English
Be pro-active and well-organised
Have some experience of working for an industry association or EU institution preferably in a junior role
Possess a working knowledge of the EU institutions
Be comfortable with online media and new communication tools (including social media)
Be able to work autonomously and under time pressure if needed
Have knowledge or previous experience with EU trade policy as an asset
Working language will be English
